You may have heard of “6 degrees on separation.” It is the idea that anyone on the planet can be connected to anyone else in just six steps. I have also heard it called the Kevin Bacon theory. I want to put it to the test and try and locate someone who I last talked to 55 years ago. Her maiden name was Nancy Mortimer. I wrote about her in this blog post. Since I am in my 80s, I am unsure if she is living. In the mid to late 1960s, she was a nurse at Lankenau Hospital. The hospital is located in Philadelphia. It is a teaching hospital, and she also taught nursing students. Her father owned a jewelry store in Pennsylvania. We dated shortly after my first wife died. The last thing I heard from her was great news. She found a “teacher” from the Midwest and was joining him there. I don’t know her married name.
