Do you remember my post “Any Suggestions?” I have always been a bit amazed by the number of people who will email me with suggestions and questions that I thought they would post on the blog. Many people seem nervous about posting. I think the question was partially answered in my mind because of the comments I got about my “Any Suggestions?” post. There were many comments about our political divide and why they thought why it occurred and some suggestions answering the title, but universally everyone who contacted me asked not to be identified if I answered them in the blog. They were all afraid they would be attacked. I can understand that. There is a grade school mentality in many of the attacks online – we called it “piling on” back in the day. Other attacks seem to come from people who must display their “correctness” on a topic or attacking a person for their incorrectness. All of these are just symptoms of what I was writing about in my post “Any Suggestions?” It is sad that people are afraid to voice their opinions in public. The question remains, any suggestions?
