No sale – answering a question

No sale – answering a question

Sharing is caring!

I received an email this morning asking me why I don’t promote anything on this blog other than two of my old novels. The sender of the email was worried about their privacy too. I don’t blame them in this age of all kinds of craziness. If you want to ask me a question and don’t want to posted it on the blog, use the contact form and I will answer your question here on the blog if you want or if you want a private reply, just let me know.

Back to the email and why I don’t promote anything. The purpose of this blog is not even to sell any of my novels. It started out because people wanted to know more about me as a person. I remember doing that myself. After I read Treasure Island, I wanted to know more about Robert Louis Stevenson. I was young and I wondered if he had been a pirate or if he had been kidnapped or if he had known a pirate with a peg leg. I remember I was guided to a biography of Robert Lewis Stevenson. There’s nothing like that available for me, so the simple blog will have to do. When I started the blog, I tried to anticipate what people might want to know. The result was the “Who I am” page. People always seem fascinated by the fact that the death of my first wife and our child caused me to change my life’s direction totally. Most of the postings related to events in my life have been the result of questions people ask. I also share my opinions of the events of the day. In other words, “no sale” is a major purpose of this blog.

  1. Hi VC,

    Hope you’re doing well.

I’m going to have ask that I be removed from your email list. I enjoy your blogs and will pop onto your website from time to time but I’m not longer able to receive all the emails. They’re coming through on my business email and I try and keep that strictly business.

    Keep on Writing,
    Teddi

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
