Continuing on with the chatbot suggestions, let’s look at number two.
“Character development: Allow Jackson and Jane to evolve and grow as characters throughout the middle of the novel. Show how their experiences and challenges shape their personalities, beliefs, and values. Develop their backgrounds and motivations to make them more relatable to the reader.”
What does Jackson need to do? He needs to complete his adjustment to civilian life. He needs to work on his artistic career. He needs to care for Jane. He will continue to fall in love with Jane. A physical relationship with Jane will be complex because of her ex-husband’s abuse.
What does Jane need to do? She will have problems trusting Jackson, even in minor ways. Jane will learn that she wants a relationship with Jackson but cannot wholly trust him. She needs to support Jackson’s artistic career. Jane will have to learn how much her ex has cost her. When Jane sees Jackson with another woman, even in a harmless situation, she is jealous.
This is perhaps the easiest of the Chabot’s suggestions. What are your suggestions for both Jackson and Jane in this area?
