Story ideas from a Christmas card

Sharing is caring!

It can seem hard to concentrate on your writing during the Christmas season. However, it’s a season where it’s easy to develop story ideas. We all get Christmas cards, so it would not be unusual for your protagonist to get them. They get a card that is signed “I remember you.” Even more unusual, the card is signed using the person’s full name. If you’re writing a romance novel, the card brings pleasant memories of someone the protagonist never thought they’d see again. If you are writing a mystery novel, the name in the signature means nothing to your protagonist. If you are writing a horror novel, the name signed on the card brings back horrible memories. If you are writing a fantasy novel, the card, the stamp, and the artwork are something you’ve never seen before, plus the date stamp on the envelope is in the long past.

See what you can come up with the Christmas card signed by someone using their full name. It might be a good story to sell for next Christmas.

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
