Who in the hell knows?

Who in the hell knows?

Sharing is caring!

The title of yesterday’s blog was “Why are people spreading misinformation?” I know some people who help spread misinformation are among the most conscientious and law-abiding citizens there are. Since they are, how can they spread misinformation about Covid 19? Someone who listens to them might well catch Covid 19 and die. Won’t they feel responsible?

I have asked some of them this question. I get two responses. The first is that the vaccine is too dangerous, and it might well kill anyone who takes it. The second response is, “I’ve never thought of it that way.” Unfortunately, the first response is the most frequent one I get. I have quickly learned there is no way you can change their mind by giving them facts. This is a strange statement, “They are immune to the truth.” It’s far from the first time this has been true of people. It happened in World War II with the German people’s response to Hitler. You know how that ended.

What can we do? The more facts you give them, the more they refuse to listen. There is one tiny glimmer of hope. One person told me that they had to believe Covid 19 was all lies, or they would be so scared they couldn’t live their day-to-day lives. Is this enough? Will it bring the pandemic under control? When in the hell knows?!?

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
