Like you probably did, I watched a little bit of the hearings for the Supreme Court nomination and also caught a little more on the news. It does not matter whether you were for or against the nominee. It was one more thing that has forced us further apart. We will destroy our country if we continue this bitter divide. Here are a couple of opinions I found online that show how divided we are, and it makes me wonder if somebody isn’t manipulating things. I’m sure you will be able to tell which side the person who posted the comment was on. First, “the extreme liberal Democrats came up with some liars trying to block the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh.” Second, “the Republicans added another liar to the Supreme Court who disrespects women.”

Doesn’t it strike you a bit odd that both sides used the same term, liar? I see the same terms appearing on both sides of the arguments I read online. Another popular word is “extreme.” All of these words that are being used are emotional ones and designed to push us further apart. Is that the Russians again? Or some other country? I don’t think of the people who don’t share my viewpoint as either liars or promoting liars. The word liar never came to mind until I started reading comments about the hearings. I think we are better people than these comments indicate and we are being manipulated. How can we fight this manipulation? Ideas?
