Follow-up from yesterday’s post

Sharing is caring!

Yesterday’s post produced a number of emails asking the same two questions. The first is if the president is a narcissist why haven’t the mental health people spoken up? The second question is really asking the same thing as the first question – why haven’t we been warned that the president has a mental health problem?

There is one reason that provides the answer to both questions. Mental health professionals have a code of ethics that prevents them from diagnosing a person who is not under their care. They also have another provision in the code of ethics that prevents them from talking about a person who is under their care. I think we can all agree those should be included in their code of ethics. I suggested that you look up YouTube videos on narcissism. Most don’t even mention the code of ethics. There is one gentleman who points out code of ethics doesn’t allow him to diagnose someone who isn’t his patient on YouTube, yet he runs through a possible diagnosis for many different people including the president.

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
