Last night our noisy neighbors woke us again. There were two distinct sounds. There were the sounds of coyotes. There was also the sound of a cat. Probably the cat was trying to scare off the coyotes. This is not a very safe place for domestic outdoor cats. We have three wildcats, Bobcat, Lynx, and very rarely Mountain Lion. The Bobcat is the most common of our wildcats. It can be very vocal. One of the sounds it makes sounds is like a woman screaming. It can be very unnerving. My first wife, Joy, and I were out in the woods near Sandstone, Minnesota. A Bobcat made one of its woman screaming sounds, and Joy was sure we should go to the aid of the woman. It took me a while to explain that it was just a Bobcat and not a woman. I found a YouTube video that has the various sounds a Bobcat makes. It also shows you what a Bobcat looks like. Other sounds the Bobcat makes are first so be patient with the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGBpiv-pOVo What do you think? Would you go to the woman’s aid?
