This morning it was 27°F or -2.7°C. It was interesting because we have fog at the same time, and everything is white with frost. It’s the end of our growing season, but we will still have some warm days. These temperatures are not unusual. My birthday is next Monday, and almost always we have a frost before my birthday occurs. In the last couple of years, it has been near the end of September before we got our first frost. It is clear that we have a warming trend going on.
Next month we should get our first snow, but not one that will stay because the ground will still be warm. I have gone skiing on Halloween. It will be November before we get our first snows that remain. It will be May before the snows disappear, and we can plant again after the first of June.
