Sharing is caring!
With COVID-19 in everyone’s thoughts, we all need reassurance. We all understand the young members of our family need our help in understanding what this virus is and what it can do. Things seem a bit less dangerous if we know what they are. Something that could be on any surface and is invisible can be very frightening. There is much talk about “social distancing.” However, within our families, we may need to hug a child to reassure them. We can also use a hug to demonstrate good hygiene. We can explain to the child that we both need to wash our hands before we touch our faces. We can even wash our hands together, showing how long it should take and how thorough we should make the washing.
Our significant others also need our support. They are worried about you and your kids. We need to recognize that we both have fears and worries about COVID-19. We also need to realize that we need each other more than ever before. We need to talk about our concerns. We can’t be afraid to touch each other. Our intimacy is one way we support each other. Perhaps, we can fall asleep while spooning. Or find some other way to let our significant other know we love them and care about them, and we will come out of COVID-19 stronger than ever.
