I received a comment about yesterday’s posting. It was basically a complaint that I was coming down on just one side. Both sides, politicians, are guilty of the same type of untrue nonsense statements for various reasons. On the side opposite the one I wrote about yesterday, I remember a comment that went something like this, “The Republicans are racist and white supremacists.” That’s crazy! That’s crazy as what I wrote about yesterday. None of my Republican friends are either of those two things. They are good fishermen and likely as not tell you a “story” about the one that got away, but they are just as likely to share their catch with you. They’ll help you look for your lost dog. They’ll support you when things are going well for you. In other words, they are what good friend should be and not what some crazy politician wrote. It may be because of my age – I am old – but they all seem somewhat unhappy about what is happening in the world and how it is changing. I remember seeing old people like that even before I became a teenager. I suspect it’s just a product of aging just like gray hair is. We don’t condemn people just because they have gray hair, so it shouldn’t condemn someone who doesn’t like the way the world is changing. Screw the politicians and enjoy your friends no matter what their political beliefs might be!
