Certainty versus political divide

Certainty versus political divide

Sharing is caring!

Have you ever tried to make sense of the current political divide in our country? Both sides have amazing conflicts in logic. How can you be pro-life and support the death penalty? How can you be for free speech and want to limit the extremist group’s right to speak? It seems to come down to the way our founders structured our government. In parliamentary systems, there are usually many more parties than two. It means each party can hold to a very narrow set of policies. That’s simply not possible under our system of government. That’s not to say there haven’t been many attempts to broaden the political base beyond two parties. One of the largest attempts to do that today is the Libertarians. We may not always like the outcome of an election, but it is a certain outcome. That is not true in the parliamentary system of government. Think of the recent election in Israel. The winner could not put together enough of the little factions to get a majority in parliament and now they have to have another election. I like our certainty.

I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
