Yesterday’s post stimulated some discussion online and in person. One of the most interesting aspects was people trying to remember those they had dated. I was asked about the lady who taught me about the yes-yes change in mores. I simply could not remember her name. I know we dated only a couple of times. If I remember correctly, she introduced me to a friend who wanted to date me. Others admitted there were only certain people they could remember who they dated – often for a specific reason, but not well enough remembered to know their names.  Almost universally, people could remember the very first person they dated. I was part of that group and instantly remember Diane. People also remembered those who they dated who went on to become good friends. That was also true for me. I want to suggest a fun mental exercise – see who you can remember from those who you dated. If you are like those who chatted with me yesterday, you’ll find it a fun trip down memory lane.
