Sharing is caring!
I have been watching the debate swirling around the partial closing of the federal government. The comments made by both sides are not very useful. Politicians rarely directly say the “why” of what they are doing or not doing. Most politicians are only doing what they think will earn them the most votes in the next election. They attempt to justify what they’re doing by using terms that are meaningless unless they are well defined. Terms like “national security” or “budget busting” seemed to say something, but without being defined, they say absolutely nothing. However, they sound good. Aristotle wrote about this 3000 years ago. It appears that politicians never change. History is full of examples of countries who entered bad times or were even conquered when there politicians only thought about their own personal goals and not about the good of the country. It appears that we will just have to once more listen to politicians on all sides cover their behind’s in search of votes in the next election while forgetting the needs of the country.

Hi Chaun, I guess that now Aristotle would be warning us, that we are in danger of being conquered. That sounds painful. Regards Roy
