Short explanation of my disability

Sharing is caring!

People are curious about my disability. My spine was damaged at its lower parts, the lumbar region and the sacral region. The latter one I always called my tailbone, if that helps you picture it. Rather than describing all of the problems these regions can cause, I thought the diagram would help you understand what the problems are. Not listed on this diagram are the fact that on my left side I am lost 99% of my feeling in my lower leg and foot. The 1% not lost is I can sense temperature which is an entirely different set of nerves originating elsewhere in the spine. I can control my left leg only to a limited degree. On the right side, I have only lost part of my feeling and my leg seems to function rather normally. The diagram is a rather abbreviated detailing of the nerves, but I hope this helps you begin to understand my disabilities.

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
