My diagnosis

My diagnosis

Sharing is caring!

I was looking at one of the VA forms I get regularly. I know what my problems are because of spinal cord damage. What I did not know was what my diagnosis would be. On this VA form, in bold print, is my diagnosis, “incomplete paraplegia.” According to healthline.com, “Paraplegia is a type of paralysis that affects the lower half of your body and your ability to walk.” Healthline goes on to say, “There is no cure for paraplegia…” I guess it is “incomplete” because it is my left leg and foot lacking feeling and needs a brace to be able to use that leg. I know now when someone asks what my problem is when they see me in my wheelchair or using my walker, I can say, “incomplete paraplegia.”

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
