How I met my first wife

This was taken shortly after I left the Army

I met my first wife, Joy, when I was going to electronic school at Fort Monmouth New Jersey. A fellow student told me he’d like to introduce me to his fiancée. When we got together, there was another couple. I honestly don’t remember much about his fiancée, but I was totally taken with the woman in the other couple. Later, I asked him about the other couple and he told me she was a friend of his fiancée and they had arranged the date between the two. I asked if it was possible to see if she was willing to date me. At that point, I didn’t have a phone number or address to be able to September October ask for myself. I should stop here and say that I am reluctant to use my friends name because he passed away a few years ago. I wouldn’t want upset any of his family by using his name publicly. Back to the story – my friend arranged a date with my future wife and every weekend as my friend went home to see his fiancée he dropped me off at my future wife’s home. By the time I left Fort Monmouth or Fort Sill Oklahoma, we were talking about getting married.

After I got orders for Vietnam about six months later, she and I decided to get married before I left. I had some leave time so it was possible we could and have some time together before I left.

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
