Advice can be confusing

Sharing is caring!

Have you ever felt like you wanted to charge your job? So you start looking. You will come across a piece of advice that reads something like this, “Do what you love, and the rest will follow.” Author Amy Krouse Rosenthal made that advice a little clearer with, “If you watch your mind at work, you’ll start to notice patterns of thought, which will show you where your strengths are.” It is actually good advice because when you get a new job, it will require your focus. Since you know how your mind works, it will come easy.

I am always a bit confused by what seems to be circular reasoning such as in this advice.

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
