I was surprised and shocked by something I heard on the radio the other day. As soon as I sat down at my computer again, I typed this phrase into a Google search “new civil war.” It confirmed what I had heard on the radio. There are actually people out there talking about needing a new civil war. There are headlines such as this one from Townhall.com “Why the Democrats would lose the second Civil War too.” I had never heard of Townhall before researching this phrase. Looking through all of the answers Google had provided to the phrase, it is clear this idea started on the right. The only liberal postings were comments triggered by comments of the right. Are we headed for the Civil War? I don’t think so, but with some people talking about it, it’s clearly a danger. We need to be on our guard. What do you think our reaction to this discussion of a new civil war should be?
