The few troublemakers

Sharing is caring!

I ran across a quote from Olivia Rodrigo. You probably know her from her records or work on the Disney Channel. Here’s the quote, “We’re so much more alike than we are different. At the core of it all, we’re all feeling the same feelings of fear and sadness and loneliness and happiness and love.” I think people have forgotten what this quote says. We see a country so polarized that some are willing to take up arms. There was just a killing of a Judge. The killer had also compiled a list of politicians from both parties he wanted to kill.

How can we change these polarized feelings? We can start by remembering Olivia Rodrigo’s words. The man or woman who says things you don’t believe has a family they love. You love your family. You also experience fear, sadness, loneliness, and happiness at one time or another. Instead of getting so upset that we would like to silence someone with different opinions, we should try to understand where those opinions come from.

You will quickly see that there are people out there who are working hard to create anger and distrust between groups. Why would they do that? To gain power is a simple answer. We should be angry at those few and not our neighbors.

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
