Love and sex are interchangeable words

Love and sex are interchangeable words

Sharing is caring!

Before we move on to today’s topic, I thought I’d give you a quick update on my latest surgery. Both incisions have stopped hurting. However, both incisions are itching, and I’m hoping that removing the staples on Friday will solve that problem. Other than that, I feel almost human again.

My post of February 2nd, “It’s biology stupid or is it,” continues to draw comments. There seem to be two clearly defined points of view on the topic. The first is that the reader does not like the fact that our love for our partner is only a biochemical way of ensuring the continuation of our species. The other is the total opposite. They are delighted to have a biochemical response that provides both pleasure and a family.

From a writer’s perspective, it opens the door to many possibilities of a good love story. I like that the reader will fill in many details from their life experiences. If I can tap into that rich source of detailed memories, I can create a memorable scene. On the other hand, I have met both men and women who would like to reject sex. I use the word deliberately. We do not like using the words love and sex interchangeably. It’s clear that somewhere in our earliest upbringing we formed our ideas whether sex was good or bad.

I think it’s clear that we all enjoy a good love story. On the other hand, it’s also clear that we have very mixed feelings about a good sex story. Even the definition of what a good sex story would be is somewhat nebulous. It probably relies on the old saying, “I know it when I see it.” With that in mind, I’d like to change the saying to, “I will enjoy it when I see it.” What do you think?

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
