It’s done!

It’s done!

Sharing is caring!

I have been missing so far this week. On Monday, we drove a couple of hours south from here. On Tuesday, I had the spinal cord stimulator, SCS, implanted. It isI not turned on yet. It will be on the 18th of this month. At this point, I have all my normal pain which has been slowly increasing and I have the pain from the incisions that were made to implant the device. They made two incisions. One for the leads to stimulate the nerves along the spine. The other was to implant the device under my skin. It’s about the size of an Oreo cookie. The trial they did with the device worked beautifully. I assume when they are able to turn the device on it will work well too.
I hurt so much that all I can do is nothing. I can’t even concentrate enough to watch a TV show or read. However, don’t feel bad for me. The outcome is something I’ve wanted for a long time. An overall reduction in pain!

  1. So glad you are on the road to no pain VC! I am sure it is a rough ride but soon life will be much better. Hang in there. Blessings and all the best.

    1. I can’t wait until Friday when they turn it on. The device, which is about the size of an Oreo cookie, is just above the belt level to the right of my spine. I haven’t seen the incision, but my wife, Mary, tells me that there’s quite a significant area of bruising around it. They have to separate the layers of skin to make the pocket to put the device in. We started down this path last June. It’s taken a great deal longer than I thought it would
