The tree is lit. The presents are still under the tree. No, we aren’t members of the Eastern Orthodox Church. It’s simply the effect of getting older. Our son is married, so they spent Christmas at her mother’s. The granddaughter is married, so she celebrated Christmas elsewhere and so on. Our turn comes on January 8, 2022. Among our friends, I know Christmas comes later for them too. However, it’s just as welcome as if it was on December 25.
