I don’t remember how I got on the list, but each morning I get in my email something called “Inspiring Quotes.” This morning it was a quote from Chief Joseph. “It does not require many words to speak the truth.” It fits beautifully with what we’ve been talking about the last couple of days. If you remember, I told you how it’s possible to get someone to accept that their red shirt is green. That required several statements and getting the person to agree to each one along the way. The truth could be said in these few words, “Your shirt is red.” Sometimes, but not always, it might not be the truth when someone uses lots of words. There is nothing sexy nor complicated to find if something your reading or hearing is the truth. Common sense and a tiny bit of knowledge of how people can manipulate you with lots of words is excellent protection.
