Sharing is caring!
I promised to share the reading of my junk mail folder with you. Because I have a presence on the Internet in the form of a website, I get mail offering to improve it and/or make money with it. Here is one of the emails directed at that – 6 timeless SEO tips. SEO is the short form for search engine optimization. In other words, how to get your website to pop up more often when someone does a search. That’s pretty boring stuff! These two headlines are meant to be much more interesting – “Give Her Toe Curling Orgasms TONIGHT” (obviously for males) and “How to revive your man in bed” (for females). I think I get both types of ads because I use my name as it appears in my writing, VC Angell. The machines that mine email addresses from the Internet all seem to not know what to make of the first two initials. Some machines probably have been programmed that it’s Like likely a woman if it’s just initials combined with the family name, the surname.
I do a little bit of gardening, so I get ads like these “Why choose a jumbo bare-root blueberry?” Those ads change with the time of year. There are more this time of year than in the fall. I also get ads for gardening tools and including power equipment such as small tractors and rototillers. I am also an amateur radio operator, KCØEM, so I get ads related to that hobby.
For my writing, I have a Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/vcaauthor. Every day I get requests to friend people or messages like this one, 杨真丽 sent you a message. I try to answer every message I get.
This ad or another one just like it, “ Save More with Refurbs! Deals from HP, Acer …” are common. Many companies lease the computers they use. You can get excellent buys on used computers. Companies want their computers up-to-date, so leasing computers is a perfect way to do that. They get up-to-date computers and do not have to worry about disposing of the old ones. If you do a search for “refurbished computers,” you’ll find many sources. All the laptops we use in the family are refurbished ones.
Moving on, the following tagline is “Renew your summer wardrobe.” There are several headlines like this one for women’s clothing. Also, there were ads for jewelry for women. My wife enjoys doing counted cross-stitch, so there are ads for kits and for other counted cross-stitch needs.
I have no idea what this headline means “KPIs for your videos.” Even after I read the ad, all I can tell was it had something to do with Internet marketing. After I did some research, I found KPI means a Key Performance Indicator board. It still leaves me in the dark.
“Great Offers on the Best Pet Must-haves” is obvious. I think we got on that email list because we buy kitty litter and cat food online from Chewy. There also ads for everything from books on pet care to ads for pet toys.
Because I make fun of the political parties in my blog, I get emails asking for donations from both major parties. Occasional get an obviously political ad, but I don’t know what party it came from. I know from past experience that you never want to click on them, or your email will be full of garbage.
This is getting boring! There were just a little over 300 new junk mail items this morning. There are fewer of these emails on weekends. Junk emails seem to be a weekday thing. There are more sexy ads then too. See you soon.
