Lying politicians

Lying politicians

Sharing is caring!

With the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, we see one more example that the politicians are not honest. Speaker of the Senate Mitch McConnell told us when there was an opening in the Supreme Court in 2016 that he would not bring a Supreme Court nominee up for a vote during an election year. In this another election year, and he said that he would have Senate vote as soon as possible fill the seat of Ruth Bader Ginsburg! Rather than being open back in 2016 and saying he would like to give the Republican candidate for president a chance to fill an open Supreme Court seat, he lied.

It is true of almost all politicians regardless of their party affiliation. There are a few truth-tellers. On the Republican side, an example would be Mitt Romney. On the Democratic side, an example would be Amy Klobuchar. Unfortunately, the truth-tellers are by far in the minority among the politicians. Everyone knows that lying is a fact for politicians. An excellent example of that is when somebody says the president has lied, and his supporters say all politicians do that!

When we vote this year, we should look for candidates like Romney and Klobuchar, i.e., honest ones. I know that it can be not easy. Sometimes I look at all the candidates regardless of party affiliation, and I can’t find an honest one. Rather than throwing up my hands and saying that I won’t vote this time, I hold my nose and vote for the one that seems to lie the least. That’s a helluva choice!!

  1. Our politicians at the moment are in tune with yours. Lying, our victorian politicians, don’t mind throwing their members under the bus for mistakes that they were the head. It’s also an eye-opener to realise and remember that our Prime Minister has no power over our states. I understand the need to separate, but we need better governance and unity. Then again if Daniel Andrews were our Prime Minister of Australia, god help us😋.
