Happy moment remembered

Happy moment remembered

Sharing is caring!

Today is my birthday. I was talking to my mother last night who is 100 years old. She was telling me about a time of which I have only a faint memory. My father was in the Army and had fought in the South Pacific from Guadalcanal to the Philippines. The Army had a policy if you fought long enough you could have a leave to take you home for a short while. My father was home on that kind of leave. He was playing with me outside and the radio announced that Japan had surrendered and the war was over. My mother went out immediately and told him. It meant he didn’t have to go back to the war. It took another couple of months before he was discharged. That’s one of the happiest moments of my life.

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
