The little waterfall and the ghost town of Banning Minnesota

Sharing is caring!

I was asked where the little waterfall is located. There used to be the town of Banning, Minnesota. It was just north of Sandstone Minnesota located along the Kettle River. Sandstone was named for the rock that was quarried alongside the Kettle River. Banning was also a town where sandstone was quarried. There was even a rail line into the town to take the quarried sandstone away. The remains of the town of Banning have been made into a state park. Click on the link below and you will see a nice group of pictures the Minnesota DNR has put up showing the park. The picture of the little waterfall is labeled “Wolf Creek Falls.”
