Sharing is caring!
This weekend is what we call “bonus days.” The skies are bright blue and the temperatures are warm for this time a year in the high 50s and even perhaps a low 60. There is also a sense of needing to get things done outside before winter settles in. Even a slight sense of desperation! Straw has been placed over the newly planted spring bulbs – that is a necessity to keep the deer from digging them up and eating them before the ground freezes. The hoses have been picked up and stored in the shed. The debris from this year’s garden has been cleaned up. The forecast is for the weather to turn colder with rain mixing with snow and then snow. We know it won’t stay yet because the ground is still warm. We also hope for another “bonus day” day or two but we know there is an ever decreasing chance that that will occur with each passing day. Worse yet from my point of view is that November is the cloudiest month of the year. I guess this mother nature’s way of preparing us for the bleak dark days of deepest winter to come.
