A sad time of year

Sharing is caring!

I have always felt sad this time of year. Fall is advanced enough here so that the trees that first changed have lost all of their leaves and are bare. As a child, I always associated leafless trees with death. I guess that’s because the only trees without leaves in the summer were the dead ones. I know it doesn’t make logical sense because I know the bare trees I see now will be bright green starting in the spring. Perhaps, it’s because a pleasant time of year is coming to an end much as life must some time come to an end. I have long puzzled over my reaction and finally concluded I’ll never know why fall provokes sadness in me.

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
