I knew there was great danger in expressing my worries about our democracy. Commentators thought I was either attacking or promoting a particular political party. Both sides thoroughly attacked me. By that, I mean both Democrats and Republicans. What I was worried about what extremist groups like the Proud Boys. They used the events of January 6th not in support of either party or either presidential candidate. Their sole purpose was disruption. Their view of America is of a strong man ruler, a dictator. Of course, that strongman should promote their viewpoints. Their viewpoints are something neither party, Democrat or Republican, support or even come close to entertaining.
