My body the trickster

Sharing is caring!

My body decided to play a trick on me starting last Saturday. For my new readers, I need to give you some background information. I injured my back while in the Army. The VA has tried hard to get me help. I have 46 hours on the operating table, and most of that was at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The last two operations were to repair problems caused by previous operations. I have concluded that it’s not possible to repair a spine after it has been damaged. I think the neurosurgeons try hard, but the number of nerves originating in the spine makes that impossible.

Back to what happened last Saturday, I had pain in my lower back. I think everyone has felt that pain – tired back. I also had a very sharp pain on my right side about the level of where I feel my hip joint is. Imaging such as x-rays and MRIs show there was no problem with that hip joint. On Saturday morning, the sharp pain changed from the right side of my body to the left and was more intense. The intense pain was at the same position as it had been on my right side. I think that means it is the same vertebrae is causing problems. I still have tired back pain as well.

The pain medication does its job but leaves me sleepy or sick. I am posting this so you know I might not be posting much for a while. Wish me luck.

” I am a writer and as a writer, I do not neatly fit into any category. I have written magazine articles, feature news articles, restaurant reviews, a newspaper column, and several book length nonfiction projects aimed at people interested in particular health problems for foundations and companies. As to novels, I have published some Kindle novels.”
